What I Wore in Rome - Day One

Thinking of heading to Rome? Don't know what to wear? Here's just a little outfit inspiration using items I've just bought from the high street!

I spent 4 nights in the beautiful captial of Rome recently. The weather at this time of year is always a worry as it can be so unpredictable so I packed a little of everything and here is what I wore...

Day 1

This was a gloriously sunny, warm day which was great as it meant I could dress in some of my more summery purchases!

We spent the morning walking round the Ancient ruins out in the sunshine. We visited the Colosseum. Roman Forum, Palatine Hill. Then lunch time walking through the beautiful streets, to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and the surrounding areas.

I wore my White Lightweight Embroidered Neck Vest Top from River Island, New Look Navy Chino Shorts, teamed with Primark sandals and my bargain Primark sunglasses. I always prefer if I'm wearing sandals on a city break to go for a cheaper pair. The streets can make your feet so dirty and I've caught my foot between pavement cracks and broken sandals before now so I couldn't bear to be throwing away an expensive pair of sandals at the end of my trip. These beauties were £4 and super comfortable, plus white goes with everything!

At night we were exhausted from an extensive day of sight seeing so we didn't have a big night planned. I just wore my new White Short Sleeve Lace Tshirt from River Island with an old a pair of River Island black skinny jeans which have a rip in one knee and my sandals. We walked by the Colosseum by night to see it all lit up and then grabbed a pizza slice and headed back to our hotel.
